3-Ways Men Can Use Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is typically used for cooking and has now become the it item for natural hair, and while women have found multiple uses for it, many of us guys are just now getting into it. It's one of those items that everyone needs to have in their pantry, and since it has endless uses, I'm going to list [just] three of my favorite and the most effective ways to use it.

1. Oil for the face
I typically avoid oil for the face (I have oily skin), but I found that coconut oil has benefitted the overall appearance and texture of my skin. Coconut oil contains antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal and antibacterial properties, so it kills the germs and bacteria that causes acne. The simplest and most effective way to use it on your face it to heat a small amount of oil and apply it directly to the affected area with a circular motion. Repeat twice a day. **If you have extreme skin problems, use in moderation and test a small area. Alway consult your doctor before using new products.
2. Teeth whitening
Okay, this one isn't easy, but if you stick to it, it works. Oil pulling is a 3,000-year-old Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. The antimicrobial and antifungal properties in coconut oil stick to the bacteria in your mouth and cleanse the teeth and gums, so as you rinse those germs are removed. Gross I know! Now this will not give you the same benefits as whitening strips or bleaching, but you will notice small improvements in your overall oral health.
3. Skin Moisturizer
This is what I use coconut oil for the most. After spending days-and-days at the beach and outside in the city, my skin has become dry, and no over-the-counter lotion worked. I simply apply coconut oil on the skin after each shower, and I have drastically seen my skin improve over the last few weeks. Also, I have scarring from chicken pox's I had at 13 (yes, I was a teenager when I finally got them; insert side eye), and the coconut oil has helped lighten the visibility of them.
There are literally 100's of ways to use coconut oil, and while I only outlined a few of my favorites, there are endless benefits when using it. It is important that when purchasing coconut oil, you choose organic virgin, unrefined oil. Also, the oil you use to cook or cleanse your teeth with is going to be different than the one use for your hair/body.
