From ostrich feathered jackets to pearl and Swarovski beaded sandals, Jérôme LaMaar's attention to detail and "more is more" aesthetic never disappoints. This season, LaMaar featured a collection of 13 pieces that was inspired by futuristic tides of the future Bronx. Staying true to his Bronx roots, Jérôme's luxury take on streetwear included light-weight knits dresses, an over-sized denim jacket embellished with pearls, Swarovski crystals, and frayed denim, and this season we saw menswear - which I was personally excited about.

Seeing Jérôme's growth has been inspiring. I first met him when he was at Baby Phat and me, Associate Buyer for babyphat.com. He has evolved as a designer, and it's evident in his collections that continue to push the boundaries of fashion and our limits of thinking about the future. Multicultural, multirace, gender benders and transgender combined with maximalism is the future and 5:31 Jérôme is leading the wave.
