In all transparency and honesty, the past few months have been TOUGH! Trying to figure out and create my next opportunity hasn't been easy, and at times I thought about giving up on everything I want just to make things easier, but I know that's not an option. I [really] believe everything happens for a reason, and sometimes that reason isn't clear, but as I continue on day-to-day, I keep pushing myself to create content that serves you because that's what [really] keeps me going. My mood goes up and down depending on the day because yes, stepping into the unknown is scary, but I remind myself that these feelings are natural and what helps me (us) grow. I'm focused on growing Sam C. Perry, the site, the brand, but more importantly—myself, and as I do that I want to continue to share my story and struggles with you. I'm approaching my third year of blogging, and as I approach it, I'm reevaluating what I want to create, how I want to deliver it to you, and what my next steps will be. There are a few things planned for the end of July, and I can't wait to share them with you!
But enough on that, let's talk about this look. Black can be boring and predictable, but the key to creating a dynamic all black look is to build depth with layers and to mix textures. I've had this sheer black shirt for years, it's one of those shirts I go back to every Summer, and this time I wanted to put together a look that I can wear to an upcoming daytime wedding. So, I layered a fitted l/s t-shirt under it and wore it with a pair of oversized trousers—my all time favorites. Get used to these sandals; you'll be seeing them a lot this Summer, especially on my upcoming trip to Italy!
