I've been very transparent with you guys here on the site, and as I continue to grow both personally and professionally, I want to continue to share my experiences with you. With that said, last week was probably one of the hardest weeks I've had in a long time. My mindset was completely off, and I was on the brink of throwing in the towel on many of my career opportunities. I even got to the point of deactivating the site for about an hour, but before I made any drastic changes, I sat in my thoughts and felt everything I needed to feel. With the support of my partner, I realized I was sitting in ego, and ego is the root of many negative emotions. What I also realized in those moments is that professional growth is a process and success does not happen overnight. That's a given, but when you're working day-and- night and night-and-day, you have expectations to be at a certain point after some time, and when you're not there yet, it's easy to become discouraged and feel as though things are failing - if you're in this space, don't believe it. Success is a state of mind, and I've said it countless times that it will look different for each of us so, when you get into the space of ego that is lead by fear, give yourself a minute to feel it, but most importantly don't make any decision based off of those emotions.
On a positive note, this week my parents celebrated their 25th Anniversary (where does the time go), and we surprised them with a fun-filled day of gifts, bowling, and dinner on the water. Since I was feeling slightly off still, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone with my look and try an oversized denim shirt. Oversized isn't really my thing, but I'm slowly starting to incorporate some pieces into my wardrobe, but still keeping them basic - like these oversized trousers. I love a full on denim look so, that allowed me to stay within my zone.
