Because my days are hectic and I'm always on the run, morning's have become a critical part of my day. About a year back, I implemented a rule: be up before 6 am and take an hour to myself with no phone, social media, or email—disconnected from everything to focus on setting a positive tone for the day, anyway I see fit. I firmly believe you set the tone for your day before you leave the house, and I do so by following my ritual daily—weekends included.

My morning rituals and what I do to get my day started:

1. Wake up by 6 AM
2. 10-15 meditation
3. Contemplate getting back in bed
4. Grab a cup of coffee
5. Journal/gratitude list
6. Make a quick breakfast
7. Drag myself to the dining room table
8. Read daily affirmation (Sign-up for weekly custom affirmations)
9. Get dressed for 9-5
10. Realize that two hours flew by and it’s time to rush out the door while I catch up on emails

Most people don't know it, but I love to cook—especially breakfast. But because I have a 9-5, and have to be out of the house by 8 am, I don't have time to cook a [proper] breakfast during the week. So, I need something simple, but tasty, and recently I've been loving Kite Hill's yogurt with added berries, granola, and chia seeds. Since going semi-vegan, finding a good yogurt has been difficult, but Kite Hill's yogurt is thick, creamy, and [slightly] tart—everything you need for breakfast.

What I love most about these flavor options is you're able to eat them plain or create your [own] flavors by adding fruits, berries, nuts, and seeds to the plain-flavor. My favorite creation is adding fresh raspberries, strawberries, chia seeds, toasted sunflower seeds, and honey to the Greek plain-style flavor, and for an added punch during snack time, I like to add in savory flavors for a yummy spread to eat with crackers and veggies.
