Because my days are hectic and I'm always on the run, morning's have become a critical part of my day. About a year back, I implemented a rule: be up before 6 am and take an hour to myself with no phone, social media, or email—disconnected from everything to focus on setting a positive tone for the day, anyway I see fit. I firmly believe you set the tone for your day before you leave the house, and I do so by following my ritual daily—weekends included.
My morning rituals and what I do to get my day started:
1. Wake up by 6 AM
2. 10-15 meditation
3. Contemplate getting back in bed
4. Grab a cup of coffee
5. Journal/gratitude list
6. Make a quick breakfast
7. Drag myself to the counter to do gratitude list while I eat
8. Read daily affirmation (Sign-up for weekly custom affirmations)
9. Get dressed for 9-5
10. Realize that two hours flew by and it’s time to rush out the door while I catch up on emails
Most people don't know it, but I love to cook—especially breakfast. But because I have a 9-5, and have to be out of the house by 7:40 am, I don't have time to cook a [proper] breakfast during the week. So, I needed something simple, but tasty, and recently I've been loving Kite Hill's yogurt with added berries, granola, and chia seeds.
